Our History
During his years serving as a Registered Nurse, our founder drew upon more than five years of clinical experience and advanced academic achievement—including Associate and Bachelor of Science degrees in Nursing, and ongoing training as a Nurse Practitioner. As a U.S. Army veteran and former Combat Medic, he learned the importance of discipline, resilience, and compassionate care in high-pressure environments.
Throughout his career, he witnessed many patients—especially seniors—discharge from the hospital only to face new challenges in their homes. Recognizing that many could thrive with just a little professional support, he was inspired to create Sunstar Caregivers. His journey included listening to families, understanding their needs, and providing direct support both as a Registered Nurse and a patient advocate.
Becoming a Direct Support Professional and care leader, our founder gained firsthand insight into the physical, emotional, and social aspects of healing at home. These experiences laid the foundation for Sunstar Caregivers, a company anchored by faith-based values and an unwavering commitment to client outcomes, integrity, and service.
Today, guided by the founder’s vision and empathy as a dedicated husband, father, and community leader, Sunstar Caregivers empowers families across the region to access compassionate, evidence-driven care in the comfort and dignity of their homes. Our mission is fueled by Christian principles, belief in family, and a relentless drive to help every individual live a healthier, happier life.
